Cu Chi Tunnels & Mekong Delta Day Trip from Ho Chi Minh City – 1 Day

Your day begins bright and early with a 6:00 AM pickup from your hotel or a designated meeting point in Ho Chi Minh City. You will travel by private vehicle to the historic Cu Chi Tunnels, located approximately 1.5 to 2 hours northwest of the city. Upon arrival, a local guide will provide an overview of the tunnels' significance and the fierce history of the area during the Vietnam War. You'll watch a short documentary film that vividly portrays the conditions and strategies employed by Vietnamese soldiers.

Following the film, you'll embark on a guided exploration of the tunnel system. This involves walking through various sections, including reconstructed weapon factories, underground hospitals, and kitchens. A highlight for many is the opportunity to crawl through a section of the narrow tunnels, offering a tangible sense of the challenging environment soldiers endured. You will also see displays of various traps used, learn about the ingenious Hoang Cam smokeless kitchen, and observe enormous bomb craters left from the conflict. For those interested, there's an optional firing range where you can try shooting different weapons (bullets at an additional cost). After your insightful visit to Cu Chi, the journey continues south towards the Mekong Delta, specifically to the Ben Tre province. Here, you'll enjoy a delicious local lunch, often featuring fresh regional specialties. The afternoon is dedicated to experiencing the serene river life of the delta. You'll board a traditional boat for a leisurely cruise along the waterways, observing fishing activities and the lush mangrove fruit trees.
