The Treasure Junk, a charming vessel launched in 2017 and refurbished in 2020, offers an intimate and authentic cruise experience through the less-explored waters of Bai Tu Long Bay. Constructed with a sturdy steel frame yet adorned with traditional wooden junk styling, this ship ensures a smooth and pleasant voyage for up to 30 guests, providing a tranquil escape from the bustling tourist routes.
Designed with a harmonious blend of classic aesthetics and contemporary comforts, the ship features three distinct decks. The first deck is dedicated primarily to guest accommodations, while the second deck hosts the main dining area alongside two exclusive suite cabins. Ascending to the third deck reveals an expansive sundeck, perfect for soaking up the sun, enjoying panoramic vistas, or participating in a rejuvenating Tai Chi session at sunrise. An inviting bar on this deck offers a relaxed setting for evening drinks.
Guest accommodations are thoughtfully designed to provide comfort and scenic views. The 12 Deluxe Ocean View cabins on the first deck each span 14 square meters and are available with either double or twin beds, all boasting picturesque ocean outlooks. For those desiring more space and luxury, the two Suite Ocean View cabins on the second deck offer a generous 43 square meters, complete with a private balcony and a lavish Jacuzzi tub, creating a private sanctuary with stunning bay scenery.
Culinary delights are a cornerstone of the Treasure Junk experience. The ship's main restaurant, located on the second deck, provides a traditional and welcoming ambiance where skilled chefs craft exquisite Vietnamese dishes. Guests can enjoy a variety of set menus for lunch and dinner, a light breakfast, and a comprehensive buffet brunch, with the crew readily accommodating special dietary requests. The sundeck bar, operational from 6:00 to 23:00, serves a selection of wines and refreshing soft drinks, ideal for enjoying against the backdrop of the bay's natural splendor.
A diverse array of activities is curated to enrich your journey. Travelers can explore hidden lagoons and grottoes by kayak in the Cong Do area, delve into Vietnamese culinary traditions during an interactive cooking class, or try their hand at squid fishing after dark. Daily Tai Chi sessions on the sundeck offer a peaceful start to each morning, while visits to the Vung Vieng Fishing Village via traditional bamboo boat provide unique cultural insights into the local way of life.
Based on 22 customer reviews, the Treasure Junk consistently earns an 'Excellent' overall rating of 9.2 out of 10. Guests frequently commend the delicious and diverse culinary offerings, noting a well-balanced mix of organized activities and ample leisure time. Many travelers particularly appreciate the peaceful ambiance of Bai Tu Long Bay, highlighting serene kayaking experiences away from crowded areas. The crew is highly praised for their professionalism and attentiveness, with tour guides often receiving special recognition. While the vessel is described by some as cozy rather than overtly luxurious, its cleanliness and intimate small-group setting are consistently cited as key factors contributing to an authentic and highly enjoyable journey.
