After breakfast, depart Siem Reap with your guide for a scenic drive to Kampong Khleang, one of the largest and most authentic fishing villages on Tonle Sap Lake. Explore the canals during the wet season, or the streets during the dry season, of this remarkable town. In the wet season, houses appear to float with water lapping at verandas, while in the dry season, towering stilts are revealed, making the houses resemble wooden skyscrapers. Visit a local pagoda built on an ancient temple site and admire its traditional wall paintings. Continue with a visit to a local family home to gain insight into daily life within the community. Afterwards, cruise onto Tonle Sap Lake to observe floating villages and understand the region’s unique natural flood system. Return to Siem Reap and transfer back to your hotel, enjoying the rest of the day at leisure.
